From an early age, I was rarely seen without a book or pen in hand. I spent my time reading or writing short stories, my imagination always ready to conjure vivid settings and exciting new scenarios.
I began writing in the historical fantasy genre under the pseudonym Irwin Glenn. What started simply as The Myth soon grew, and within months I had completed a full‑length, handwritten manuscript.
Year : 2020
During the 2020 lockdown, as the world paused to reduce the impact of COVID‑19, I found myself discussing that manuscript with a friend who was a published author. She generously offered to read it. Her feedback was simple but powerful: the story was imaginative, and it has legs. She also told me it needed proper editing. Several months later, I self‑published my first book — and haven’t looked back since.
This was the year I returned to that wonderful kind of storytelling, where ideas just unfold magically in my head. I started drafting a story called The Tower, before realising I really ought to write what happened beforehand instead!
So Planet 27 became the first book — and later, I went on to write its prequel as well. We all have to start somewhere! Once Planet 27 was complete, I turned back to The Tower, which grew and changed until it became Tower 17.
